Need for Speed: Underground 2 for PC, PS2 and etc. Is a sequel to the feisty racing game that sold in over five million legal copies within six months of its official market release (November 2003) worldwide. The game refers to the widely known phenomenon of car customization and films such as The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious. The gameplay has been efficiently modified, turning it more towards the Grand Theft Auto and Driver series. The players can now freely explore the metropolis that consists of five large, distinctive districts. The entire gameplay takes place after dark. During the exploration, the players may encounter other drivers, who serve as a source of information about the events concerning the enthusiasts of high speed races.

However, the players may also challenge those drivers for races starting at a nearest intersection. Virtual conversations overheard by the player will also deliver information about the locations of different shops that specialize in car customization.
